In 2025, we expanded our annual archive sector survey to the whole of the UK, in partnership with National Records Scotland, the Scottish Council on Archives, Welsh Government, Archives and Records Council Wales and Public Record Office of Northern Ireland.
This annual survey provides us with the standardised baseline data that we need to effectively advocate on behalf of archives to funders and stakeholders, locally, regionally and nationally. Collating the responses, we can also provide archives with a national dataset, enabling them to benchmark their performance against other services.
